Our New Addition to the Family

On Jan 6th our little girl made her debut. She weighed 7lbs and 9oz and was 20 inches long. She is beautiful and a great little girl. We actually have to wake her up at night to eat. If she continues to eat frequently during the day we are going to start trying to let her sleep through the night. I don't want her to get in the habit of having to get up at night :) We really enjoy having her and look forward to many more memories together.

Christmas 2010

I hope that Christmas was great for all of our loved ones and friends. We had a great Christmas! It was wonderful to spend time with our families and friends but the time went by really fast. It was nice to just reflect on the reason we celebrate this time of year and I am so grateful to have so many blessings in my life. On a funnier side I had to post this picture of Cameron. He got a Superman Snuggie from his parents and I think it totally looks like he is dressed in a costume.

I can't help but show what a great deal we got on some baby furniture. The room that we plan to put the baby in is not very big so we knew we had to be resourceful in picking out furniture. Plus it can get very expensive very fast. We decided to just start checking on KSL.com and with time we figured we could find a good deal on what we were looking for. Here is what we found: A crib that has a small dresser that comes off to convert into a toddler bed and the dresser stands alone, a changing table with drawers, and a book shelf, all for $200. We couldn't even find a new crib for that much. Cameron put some stain on it and then sealed it and ta-da it was like new. Did I mention that it came with the crib mattress and the toddler bed mattress. I thought that was one good investment. Only time will tell.

For Halloween Cameron got this crazy idea to dress up as his boss. Clients frequently ask if he is the boss' son so Cameron decided to dress as Terry. But in order to look more like Terry he needed to get a hair cut. It was a little drastic as you can see. Funny thing is Terry ended up wearing the same color shirt Cameron had chosen to wear so it really added to the whole effect.

Here is Terry's reaction when he saw Cameron.

In one of our rooms we found out that there was some wasted space. So we got this bright idea to knock out the wall and add a little space to the room. We figured it would be perfect for a changing table. It was a great learning project for us. Here are some pictures along the way. The walls are a bit lighter than they appear in the pictures. We didn't know the gender of our baby when we painted. As you can see we have added princess decals to the walls and I'm working on some curtains to make it more girl-ish.
I decided not to go to school for the summer semester and rather we filled our schedule with a garden and home improvement projects. Our parents helped us a lot with both. THANK YOU!!! We called them several times to ask how to do a number of different things. It was a summer of learning! Here are a few things we got out of our garden. This potato was HUGE!!! We also got beets, peas, strawberries, raspberries, radishes, pumpkins, honeydew, green peppers, jalapenos, onions, corn and a TON of tomatoes. Lesson Learned: A flat of tomato plants is too much!

I'm still working out the kinks. Looks like my attempt to catch up may be a bit confusing, these posts are in reverse chronological order. Oh well:) A short time after we got the dog we found out that two years of trying to start a family paid off, we finally would be having a child!!! We were so excited. I was supper surprised and didn't believe it at first. It took several tests and a trip to the doctor before it finally hit me. Even then I was afraid to get too excited but now I can hardly wait.
